Bra Fittings In-Store: A Guide for Mums
Finding the perfect bra during pregnancy and postpartum can be challenging, but at Preggi Central, we want to make sure, you are comfortable and it is as easy as possible. Our in-store bra fitting experience is designed specifically with mums in mind, ensuring every bra fits beautifully throughout all the changes your body goes through.
Step 1: Getting to Know You
When you arrive at our bra wall, we start by asking some key questions to understand where you’re at in your pregnancy or postpartum journey. This is important because your body changes a lot during this time.
How far along are you?
Your ribcage expands by at least one band size during pregnancy, if not more, so we want to make sure your bra fits comfortably throughout and postpartum.
What type of bras do you prefer?
Do you like cupped bras, padded bras, or flexible cups? Would you prefer something pretty with lace, or more practical everyday wear?
Wires or no wires?
Wire-free bras are recommended only for the first trimester and the first 6-8 weeks postpartum. Apart from that, the most important part is for you to be comfortable and supported.
Step 2: The First Fitting
Once we know a bit about your preferences and stage, we select one bra for the initial fitting. We start by asking your usual bra size, then typically go up one band and one cup size for the first try.
During the fitting, we look for the classic signs of a perfect fit:
- Does the band sit snugly but comfortably?
- Do the cups fully contain your breasts without gaps or spillage?
- Are the straps supportive but not digging in?
- Do you have enough room for future changes, if needed?
We also adjust our focus depending on whether you’re pregnant or postpartum, as each phase comes with its own fitting needs.
Step 3: Trying On Different Styles
Once we nail down your size, we explore different bras to find what you really love. We’ll ask plenty of questions as you try them on to understand what feels good and what doesn’t, whether it’s the cup shape, the level of padding, or the style.
Every bra gets a careful fit check. We want to make sure you leave with the right size in every style you choose.
Why We Don’t Just Measure
While many mums are used to measuring their bra size at home, every bra fits differently, even in the same bra, and every mum’s body is unique. Our fitting process goes beyond measurements to make sure you get a bra that truly fits and feels amazing.
