Joanne's Induced Labour
I'd heard that using a TENS machine was a fantastic way to manage the pain of labour and birth.
We were induced and I got the pads on ready for labour once I was hooked up to the induction drug. Once contractions started, I got my husband to hook the machine up and pass me the control.
I started off soft, and as contractions got more intense, I upped the intensity of the TENS. In between contractions it was great to have the gentle vibrations on my back to help remind me to relax and breathe.
Then when a contraction hit, the burst mode was an instant hit that drew my attention to the vibrations instead of contractions!
It was such a valuable asset to have during this birth and I definitely felt more in control of the pain this time around compared to my first birth without a TENS machine.
Totally worth it!
