Micaela's Labour Tens Birth Story
I'm so grateful to have been able to hire a TENS machine from Preggi Central!
After some complications early in my 3rd trimester and the possibility of a preterm labour, I got to 36.5 weeks and my obstetrician said "it's time to get that TENS". Thankfully, I was able to order one online and pick it up the next day.
I had a 19 hour induced labour and epidural with my first and wanted to avoid one this time. Again, I was induced but went in equipped with my birthing combs, blindfold and TENS and I'm certain that it's because of these that I was able to make it through. In a rare turn of events, and unbeknownst to anyone at the time, bub turned posterior during labour and I spent a good hour or more crying out for an epidural!!!
Throughout it all though, I only used the TENS and hubby learnt my cues and took over the boost button during the moments where I lost my rhythm.
I found a setting that worked well for me during contractions and at times I didn't want to turn off the boost in between! I really liked the sensation. Both the sensory distraction and pressing of the buttons gave me focus and some sense of control with each contraction.
The TENS kit I received was clean and in excellent condition, and included spares parts just in case. It was easy to use and the additional instructions sent via email were really helpful.
Thanks again to Preggi Central for the customer service and hiring out these TENS machines. I would highly recommend both the store and TENS to anyone having a baby.
Micaela (and baby Rory).
